Masa Sqauare Hotel Fashion Show has become the most anticipated fashion  in Botswana.

This year’s instalment of the fashion show was held on the 21st of October and came as a finale to the MSH mentorship program which started on the 1st of March 2017 and it saw 12 up and coming designers being mentored by 12 seasoned designers to come up with collections that had a semblance or storyline that stitched each piece together.
The mentees: Boikanyo Molale, Thabiso Makwate, Katlego Moatshe, Pamela Ntshwarang, Lerang Keabile, Gomotsegang Dipuo, Tshepiso Abdulla, Ratanang Morontshe, Seatla Khutlo, Katlego Sengate, Temo Mpudi and Mpho Chepete
The mentors: Lame Chilume of Switch Couture BW, Mummy Molapo of Fetish Culture, Tlamo Mosinyi of Bondphill, Kaone Moremong of House of Kay, Lesedi Matlapeng of Kefseddy Designs, Natasha Selelo of Tasha Creationz, Dikatso Motlapele & Anita Molosiwa of Eccentric Style Loft, Candida & Wedu Montsho of DihDah, Thabiso Dibeela of Thabie D Originals, Tankiso Mathware of Priestly Botho Chalebgwa of Botocy and Delayna Scott of Delayna Scott designs.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of Candida & Wedu Montsho of DihDah as the 2017 Masa Fashion Show Designer of the Year. This will see the husband and wife design duo awarded with an all expenses paid trip to Nairobi, Kenya, to showcase their latest collections at this year’s The Core Fashion Keny held on the 7th to 11th November 2017.
Outside of the designers themselves, the event was a production of note. The hotel collaborated with an array of local industries to make sure the mentees had the most exclusive and memorable debut.

Masa Square Hotel has positioned itself as a very important stake in Botswana’s creative industry in more ways than one. The theme of this year was “Working Together to Grow Botswana’s Industry” and this was evident from not just the designs, but the production as a whole. Here is to #MSHFW2018.
