Models And Creatives Workshop
Em Models’s Mmina Gaebonwe presented the first ever Models and Creatives Workshop. The Johannesburg based model hosted the event to create a platform where models, photographers, media and other creatives in the industry could interact and discuss ways to grow the industry.
The day`s programme constituted of interactive talks from models based both in Botswana and South Africa and various creatives based in Botswana.
South African based model Jessica imparted knowledge to the attendees about the trials and tribulations of being a working model.
Thapelo Letsebe shared his story on being a creative (fashion blogger and stylist) in Botswana and highlighted the importance of perseverance, especially in our slowly growing fashion and creative industry.
Gwen Isaacs spoke about her craft as a makeup artist and how she used her passion and skills to start her own business and launch The Lush Lifestyle located at Masa Square.
The day was not all talks by invited industry experts, guests had time to mingled, share experiences, network, had nibbles, sundowner-cocktails and of course took a selfie or too. I must add that the attendees brought their style a-game.
After lunch we were treated to a fashion show by Alice and Theresa Jonas whose garments graced the runway as soft Sunday ballads serenated us. The designer duo also dressed the host, Minna for all her multiple outfits of the day.
Nomuzi, from South Africa performed for the guests and the dj ensured there was no dull moment.
All in all it was a great Sunday afternoon overlooking Gabs from our venue Sky lounge. A relaxed Sunday filled with advice, fashion and modelling tips, encouragement, good music and of course networking.
Yours in Fashion
