Batswana will experience Lira’s phenominal talent, again, on her “Captured Tour” on Friday 4th November.   Alongside her will be the newly formed Metrophones, a very talented local ensemble, opening the evening with some great well known hits. This will be the final leg of the 2011 Mascom Live Sessions.

Just a recap of the Mascom live Session for those who attended-and some of us who missed out on all the fun, following the Lira show on November 4th, BotswanaCraft will have hosted seven Live Sessions this year. They brought to the Botswana crowd shows including Folk Festival featuring Celtic Fusion; a three man band from Ireland, Germany Botswana, alongside Kobo Labour and the Stamp ore Trio.

In April there was a performance by the legendary Hugh Masekela and Socca Moruakgomo. June there was a show by Lister Boleseng, Eugene Jackson and Nono Siele. In August Oliver Mtukudzi and Ndingo Johwa reminded Batswana why they still love their music. In September there was Salif Keita and Banjo Mosele. October they hosted Thomas Mapfumo, the Blacks Unlimited alongside Ras Judah the Oneness.

And Miss Lira (as part of her Captured Tour) alongside the Metrophones will be closing down the ‘sessions’ for 2011.
